Editorial

During the first PromSTAP-year four open calls for proposals have been completed. Until February 2006 seventeen interregional sub-projects in the field of food safety and food quality have been approved by the PromSTAP Steering Committee. All available funds have now been committed and the efforts and energies of the seven regions involved are focussed on the successful implementation of the 17 sub-projects. Furthermore we look back on several meetings with international participants and different activities to disseminate the experience and know-how. Therefore the second PromSTAP-Newsletter is focussing on approved sub-projects and activities related to knowledge dissemination like the PromSTAP-Forum and -Network. I wish all PromSTAP partners success with their work and I hope that you will have many inspirations while reading this newsletter.
